Online applications for 2019 entry will go live on 8thNovember after our open evening with a deadline of Friday 25thJanuary. Applications received after this date will be subject to course availability.

How to apply to BHC

Stage 1

  • You will attend the BHC Open Evening on Thursday 8thNovember 2018
  • You can now submit your online application anytime up to 25thJanuary 2019
  • You will attend the BHC Taster Day on Wednesday 28thNovember 2018

Stage 2

  • You will be called for your first guidance interview as follows:
  • GSHS Year 11 students in Austin & Bannister Houses – Week commencing 28thJanuary 2019
  • GSHS Year 11 students in Newton & Parks Houses – Week Commencing 4thFebruary 2019
  • GSHS Year 11 students in Stephen & Thompson Houses – Week Commencing 11thFebruary 2019
  • External Applicants & any remaining GSHS applicants – Week Commencing 25thFebruary 2019
  • Following your interview, you will receive a conditional offer letter from us in the post which you should accept within two weeks of receiving.

During this stage, the following events will take place during P1 PSHE sessions:

  • UCAS & Careers Information & Advice Guidance session – Week commencing 28thJanuary 2019
  • Effective Study Skills session – Week commencing 25thFebruary 2019 (Austin, Bannister, Newton House)
  • Effective Study Skills session – Week commencing 4thMarch 2019 (Parks, Stephenson, Thompson House)
  • Subject Masterclasses – Week commencing 25thMarch 2019 (Austin, Bannister, Newton House)
  • Subject Masterclasses – Week commencing 1stApril 2019 (Parks, Stephenson, Thompson House)

Stage 3

  • You will sit your GCSE examinations
  • You will attend the Year 11 BHC Transition Day during the week commencing 8thJuly. This is an opportunity to meet the year 12 tutor team and all student applicants. You will be treated to
  • You will receive a letter inviting you for your final guidance and enrolment interview which will take place either on the day of GCSE Results (22ndAugust 2019) or the day after. This is an opportunity to discuss your GCSE results and make any changes necessary based on timetabling, entry requirements and course numbers.
  • At your interview, we will provide details regarding the induction process in September
